The LinkBuds S combines innovative ambient sound that lets the listener interact with the world around them with high-quality noise-canceling technology allowing them to focus on their favorite track from Olivia and nothing else. Smart features such as Adaptive Sound Control and Auto Play sense the user’s behavior and automatically adjust sound settings to provide the right sound for the moment. Just like the LinkBuds S, the LinkBuds S x Olivia Rodrigo feature noise-canceling, High-Resolution Audio Wireless, and host an ultra-small and lightweight design so fans will be able to comfortably listen to their favorite album all day long. Due to the variation in material, the headphones host a violet marble pattern that causes no two pairs of LinkBuds S x Olivia Rodrigo to be the same. When designing the LinkBuds S x Olivia Rodrigo, Rodrigo chose an environmentally-conscious design using factory-recovered plastic, reclaimed water bottles, and recycled plastic materials from automobile parts to create parts of the case and body of the headphones. The LinkBuds S x Olivia Rodrigo includes two special equalizers customized for Olivia’s music that can be accessed through the Sony|Headphones Connect app, allowing fans to listen like Olivia. Olivia’s authenticity and commitment to her fanbase is one we wanted to honor with this amazing LinkBuds S partnership.” “As a company that puts creator vision over everything, Sony aims to connect artists with their fans in innovative ways. I'm hesitant to consider Sony brand for headphones again.“These headphones are meant to deliver a listening experience that is a personal extension of Olivia Rodrigo’s creative intent and unique sound,” states Hiroshi Nakamura, Head of Personal Entertainment Business Unit, Sony Corporation. I had the XM3 in the past and loved them! Decided to try Sony's latest model as my older pair had just died. All they have to do is simply add a feature to allow turning off this poorly engineered feature. A device with "features" that can't be turned off is just poor engineering. However, I suspect when receiving the new pair I will still have this problem.ĭon't even consider buying these. I contacted Sony and all they can do is send me a replacement pair of headphones. However, I still find them switching at other random times so I can't really pinpoint all the triggers. For example, I have noticed that when waiting for the NYC subway and an announcement comes on, my headphones will switch to ambient mode. It usually occurs when there is a loud sound nearby but not always. My headphones keep switching back to ambient mode and there is not way to turn it off. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions. When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. In fact the normal NC function is only a bit better at cutting out noise.Īs for the "adaptive sound control" part, the headset adjusts the NC, not making it stronger. The slider does adjust the NC performance, but at 1 (lowest) the NC performance is about the same as selecting the regular NC option. Next here are 2 shots of the ambient sound section, you can select 1-100, with 1 being the most NC, and 100 to most ambient sound pass through. Here is a screenshot of the NC part of the app for the wh-1000xm5, no slider to control the NC The last line clearly shows that the adaptive (auto NC optimizer) is always active.īecause the noise canceling performance is automatically optimized by the Auto NC Optimizer function according to changes in the wearingĬondition and usage environment, you may notice fluctuations in the
